Voice AI

First-round screening that happens over the phone

Some candidates never open the link. A voice screen reaches them the way they already answer — the AI calls, works through your question plan, and writes the scored result back onto the application record before anyone on your team has spent a minute on it.

How it works

Four steps, none of them yours

A recruiter starts the call from the submission. Everything after that runs on its own.

01

The call goes out

Trigger the screen from an application record and the candidate's phone rings — no scheduling round-trip, no link for them to lose.

02

It works the question plan

The AI asks the same questions, in the same order, that the link-based interview would have asked for that role.

03

Answers get scored

Each spoken answer is evaluated against that plan, so two candidates for one role are assessed on the same basis.

04

Results land on the record

The transcript, the per-answer evaluation and the overall recommendation attach to the submission alongside every other artifact.

Same engine

A delivery channel, not a second product

Voice screening runs the identical interview workflow as the public link — the question plan, the answer evaluation and the completion logic are one implementation, used two ways.

Consistent by construction

Because both channels share one engine, a phone screen and a link screen for the same role cannot quietly diverge in what they ask or how they score it.

One review surface

Results are reviewed exactly where link-based results are, and can be shared through the same public feedback link for people who do not need a login.

Better reach, same standard

Use voice for the roles and regions where a phone call simply gets answered more often, without lowering the bar for those candidates.

Setup

Connect your own telephony

Voice screening places calls through your own Twilio account, so the numbers, the call records and the per-minute costs stay on infrastructure you control and can audit.

Your account, your numbers

Add your Twilio credentials and outbound number in settings. Calls originate from a number you own and recognise on your own bill.

Off until you turn it on

Until those credentials are configured the feature stays inactive — nothing dials out by accident, and the rest of the platform is unaffected.

Before you switch it on

Recording and automated calling are regulated differently across regions, and consent requirements vary. Confirm what applies where your candidates are before running voice screens at volume — the platform gives you the control, not the legal clearance.

FAQ

Questions about voice screening

That is set by how you introduce the screen in your opening message, and in many places disclosure is a legal requirement rather than a preference. Treat it as something to get right deliberately.

The call outcome is recorded against the session, so an unanswered or failed call is visible on the record rather than silently disappearing.

Only in delivery. The question plan, the evaluation of each answer and the completion logic are the same implementation — voice adds a phone channel on top of it.

Yes. Calls are placed through your own Twilio credentials, which keeps the phone numbers and call costs under your control. The feature stays inactive until those are configured.

Of course. Voice screening is one option for first-round screening, not a replacement for scheduled interviews — those continue to work exactly as they do today.
