Senior Backend Engineer
Own the REST API and multi-tenant data layer that every module in Jwalix — jobs, candidates, interviews, campaigns — is built on.

What we're building
Jwalix is an AI-powered applicant tracking platform for in-house recruiting teams and staffing agencies who want one workspace instead of stitched-together tools — jobs, candidates, interviews, placements, campaigns, and reporting, all in one place, with an AI Recruiting Copilot built into the workflow rather than bolted on. What you'd be doing
Jwalix's Angular frontend talks to a single REST API shared across every tenant, isolated by a per-request tenant header rather than separate deployments. You'd be joining the team that owns that API: its data model, its background jobs (email delivery, resume parsing, ad-board sync), and the multi-tenant guarantees the rest of the product depends on.
You'd sit on a small backend team — currently three engineers — that owns everything behind the Angular app. Nothing here is a black box maintained by some other team: if a query is slow or a webhook is flaky, you're the one who gets to fix it properly, end to end.
You'd report to the Engineering Lead and work alongside two other backend engineers, pairing closely with whichever frontend engineer is building the module you're supporting.
What you'll do
- Design and ship API endpoints — Build and evolve REST endpoints backing modules like Jobs, Candidates, Interviews, and Campaigns, keeping tenant isolation correct by construction.
- Own background processing — Work on the async jobs behind resume parsing, campaign delivery, and job-board distribution — where correctness under retries matters as much as speed.
- Review for multi-tenant safety — Catch cross-tenant data leaks and permission gaps in review, before they reach a shared production database.
- Partner with frontend — Work directly with the Angular team shipping the module you're building the API for, instead of throwing a spec over a wall.
- Keep migrations safe — Write and review schema migrations that run against a live, multi-tenant database without downtime or data loss.
- Own your service's reliability — Set up the logging, alerting, and dashboards you need to actually know when something in your area breaks — before a customer tells us.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years building and operating production backend services
- Strong SQL and relational data modeling — this is a Postgres-backed, multi-tenant system
- Comfortable owning a service end to end: API, background jobs, and the on-call that comes with it
- Experience with async/queued job processing (emails, imports, third-party sync)
- Experience writing and reviewing database migrations against a live production system
- Able to debug a production incident calmly, from alert to root cause to fix
- Prior work on a multi-tenant SaaS product
- Exposure to search/ranking systems or embeddings-based matching
- Comfortable with Docker and a standard CI/CD pipeline
